Mechanical Engineering Department

The students are given training in these important in areas of machining processes (such as turning, milling, shaping, boring, drilling) and general mechanical fittings (such as pumps and valves maintenance, gear maintenance, assembly / disassembly and general maintenance techniques). The emphasis is on self-reliance in tackling any mechanical problem

Industrial machines need to be kept in standard conditions for efficient operations and this requires the services of skilled personnel to maintain these facilities. The steel and metallurgical industries are replete with big mechanical equipment and components culminating in gigantic ovens, furnaces, pressure vessels, steam vessels, transportation equipment, rolling machines, etc.

The techniques necessary to keep these equipment and assemblies in good mechanical condition for efficient operation are taught in this department.
